Carolina Camino Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a charitable and religious purpose. Our mission is to make it easier for Catholic faithful to experience the many amazing spiritual benefits of pilgrimage journeys, without having to travel overseas. We are not a money-making business. All revenues, including those received as payment for services offered, are used exclusively to fund the pilgrimages and to ensure they are operated in a safe, professional, and well-organized manner.
We are a corporation lawfully filed with the North Carolina Secretary of State. Our State Identification Number (SOSID) is 3068036. We were founded by James Kelly Osborne, a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salisbury, NC.

The cost for an individual to participate in the 2025 Carolina Camino Pilgrimage is $499.99. However, we invite and encourage participants to explore our Sponsorship opportunities, which can help reduce the price you pay considerably. (For more information, see FAQ questions: “Can I receive financial aid?” and “Can I sponsor a Pilgrim?” below.)
The above price helps cover the cost of operating the pilgrimage, including the cost of transportation (support van rental), nightly accommodation, and certain emergency supplies. Most of the ticket revenues will go toward paying for nightly accommodation over the 10-day period. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, none of our officers are paid, and none of your ticket price goes toward salaries or compensation for any of our officers.

Your ticket is booked upon payment of the full price and submittal of a complete Pilgrim’s Application. The application form requests basic personal details, like your name, contact information, and any special accommodations you may require.
If you are working with one or more sponsors, your ticket is considered booked once you and your sponsor(s) have paid a combined amount equal to the individual ticket price of $499.99. The sponsorship package(s) on our Shop page will easily allow your sponsor to specify that their donation is earmarked for you.
Payment can be made quickly and easily online at www.carolinacamino.org on our “Shop” page. Simply pay by debit or credit card. Or, you can mail a check to the address below:

If you choose to mail your payment, you can place a temporary “hold” on your ticket by booking your ticket through our “Shop” page and selecting the “Mailed Check” payment option. That way, we will know your check is on the way. If your check is not received within 10 days, your booking may be subject to cancellation.

Yes, financial aid is available in the form of Sponsorships. The “Shop” page on our website offers additional details on our sponsorship package(s). You can invite one or more sponsors to support you. The easiest way for a potential sponsor to support you is to direct them to our “Shop” page, where they can earmark their donation to contribute toward your ticket price. You can request to have some or all of your ticket price paid through sponsorships, but please remember that your ticket is not considered booked until it is paid in full.
-
Yes! If you would like to sponsor a specific individual, you can select a sponsorship package on our “Shop” page and earmark your donation to cover some or all of the ticket price for that individual.
If you would like to sponsor any pilgrim in need of financial aid, even if you do not know them personally, you can also use our “Shop” page to submit a non-earmarked donation. Choosing this option means your donation will go toward the next person in need of aid, according to the order in which the ticket was booked. May the Lord bless you for your generosity!

We use the term “van-supported group hike” to indicate that a support van will always be nearby to provide relief and assistance in the case of exhaustion, injury, inclement weather, or unforeseen circumstances. In some situations, participating pilgrims will travel in the van to avoid certain dangerous road segments or to cover greater distances that cannot feasibly be covered on foot. The support van will always be “on-call” as an emergency backup option.
-
We will walk a total of 145 miles, or about 14.5 miles daily. However, some days will be longer or shorter than others. Check out our “Itinerary” Page for more daily miles walked.
-
Pilgrims participating in the Carolina Camino should commit to all or most of the hike. This is due to the logistics of transportation, booking accommodation, budgeting and financing, etc.
-
In case of rain, each person should carry a poncho or rain coat. The hike continues rain or shine. If severe weather occurs, pilgrims should seek shelter. If severe weather is persistent or sufficiently severe to endanger pilgrims, all pilgrims will be gathered together in the van and the entire group will seek shelter until it is safe to continue.
